Solvang

Jesse and I went to Solvang (a little Dutch town near Santa Barbara, CA) with most of my extended family for my Nana's birthday. My family really loves it there and goes about every other year. While there, we shopped around the neighborhood, went swimming, drove a surrey around and saw a play called "Curtains" in the quaint outdoor theater. On the way home, I drove, so I convinced (more like forcibly persuaded) Jesse and my mom to have a nature day. We went to a Lavender Farm (soooooo beautiful!) or as Jesse calls it the "purple weeds farm", we went to see a pretty lake, drove through Santa Barbara, went on a treasure hunt for a drift wood beach I'd heard about from my friend Chaz, and then finally saw the most beautiful Red Tide while taking HWY 1 back home. For me: it was the best day of my life! For my mom: it was okay. For Jesse: he wanted to die and was so, totally, incredibly bored. Maybe one day my hippie side will rub off on him. Probably not.
