Orchid: This Year's Hibiscus

As I was waking-up this morning I heard Jesse's voice in the kitchen and the smell of Chorizo permeated the house.
Two things you must know before continuing:
1. Jesse lives an hour and a half away from me in San Diego; it is not normal for me to wake-up hearing his voice in our house.
2. I'd never had Chorizo before I started dating Jesse. On one of our first dates he made it for me and it was love at first greasy, delicious bite. Later, I even asked if he would make me Chorizo when he proposed. He didn't, but I've since forgiven him. : )

Back to today:
Then I turned to get out of bed and saw this beautiful swan vase holding an orchid on my nightstand.

When I went out to the living room Jesse told me he bought it because it reminded him of me. I asked why and he said, "Well, swans are gorgeous and so are you.(AWWWWW!) Plus, this is the flower you put behind your ear on my birthday." (The referred to flower was a hibiscus flower that we found on our walk to the La Jolla Caves. Not really an orchid, but I still thought it was sweet that he even remembered that!)Then we ate the yummy chorizo he'd made for me (and technically for my mom, too because it was the day after Mother's Day. But I'm writing this blog, so I'm saying it was all mine!) At this point, it was time for me to leave for class, so Jesse drove me to school. It was sad to say good-bye after only a few hours, but it was so nice to see him. I'm very lucky to have such a sweet guy that takes such good care of me!
